Your privacy, in plain terms.

PlainVoice is built around a simple promise: your voice stays on your device. The PlainVoice app transcribes everything locally and does not send your audio, transcripts, or usage anywhere. This policy is about the website and the waitlist, where the only personal data we collect is the email address you choose to give us.

Who we are

The website and waitlist are run by Robin Broers (trading as Broersmarketing), based in the Netherlands. We are the "data controller" for the data described here. You can reach us any time at info@plainvoice.io.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect:

• Your email address.
• The date you signed up, and a note that the signup came from this site.

That's it. We do not use cookies, we do not run analytics or tracking, and we do not store your IP address in our records. Our hosting provider may briefly process standard technical data (such as IP addresses in server logs) to deliver and secure the site, as any website does.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your email for one reason: to send you a confirmation that you've joined, and to email you when PlainVoice is ready to download. Our legal basis under the GDPR is your consent, which you give by submitting the form. We will not use your email for anything else, and we will never sell it.

Who processes it for us

To run the waitlist, your email is handled by a small number of trusted providers:

• Supabase — stores the waitlist in a database hosted in the European Union.
• Google Workspace — sends the confirmation email from info@plainvoice.io.
• Vercel — hosts the website and runs the signup function.

These providers only process your data on our instructions, to provide their service.

International transfers

Our database is hosted in the EU. Some providers (such as Google and Vercel) are based in the United States and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

We keep your email until PlainVoice launches, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first. After that, or if the waitlist is cancelled, we delete it. You can ask us to remove you at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct it if it's wrong.
• Have it deleted ("right to be forgotten").
• Restrict or object to how we use it.
• Receive a copy of it (data portability).
• Withdraw your consent at any time — this is as easy as emailing us to be removed.

To exercise any of these, just email info@plainvoice.io. If you believe we've mishandled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

How we keep it safe

The site is served over HTTPS. The waitlist database is protected so it can only be written to by our server-side signup function, never directly from your browser, and the keys that access it are kept server-side only.

The PlainVoice app

To be clear: the PlainVoice desktop app is fully on-device. Your audio and transcripts are processed locally and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. Your dictation history stays in a local file on your own computer that you can clear at any time. This policy does not need to cover the app, because the app doesn't collect your data.

Changes to this policy
